LOSS

Here are the key takeaways from my perspective:

  • Networking should be enjoyable: I host a networking meetup on Monday evenings at a Mexican restaurant in Woodlands, Texas, where they have half-off margaritas. It's important to me that networking is fun.

  • A network provides solutions: Having a professional network is critical for when you encounter problems and need actual solutions.

  • Connecting with people who understand: While you can talk to your family or coworkers about your problems, they often don't truly understand the specifics of what you are going through. My network consists of the people who actually matter and understand my professional situation.

  • Direct financial value: I believe that your network is ultimately your dollars.
